„Balkan Marathon Rally 2014”
is a race in two Balkan countries and is classic Rally Raid competition.
Here you will find information about the Balkan countries through which the race and bivouacs.
Near all the bivouacs there will be hotel facilities. All the Bivouacs will be closed and guarded area.
Also there will be provided the toilet, showers facilities and central lightning.
Near the Bivouac will be the Race Control and briefing rooms.
Bivouac 1

Samokov, Bulgaria
– three nights – 5, 6, 7 of September.

Bivouac 2 -
Ohrid Lake, Macedonia – Rest day 8 & 9 of September.

400 km. crossing the borders

- Mavrovo, Macedonia – three nights with prize giving ceremony.

For those who will arrive by plane in Sofia we will arrange free transport to the center of the race.
Republic of Bulgaria
Member of the European Union since 2007. Capital of Bulgaria - Sofia - 1.5 million population.
Visa free regime with EU countries and with Macedonia, Serbia and Albania.
Official Currency - Bulgarian lev - 1 euro = 1,955 Leva. Approximate price of fuel is 1.25 – 1.30 euro per liter.
The cars must moving with lights on throughout the year in the national roads.
The authorized maximum speed is 90 km/h, in population centers - 50 km/h and on highways is 130 km/h.
Republic of Macedonia (FYROM)
Independent country from 1991 with capital Skopje - 500,000 population.
Visa free regime with EU countries. Official Currency - Macedonian denar - 1 euro = 61.5 MD.
Approximate price of fuel is 1.25 – 1.35 euro per liter. The cars must moving with lights on throughout the year in the national roads.
The authorized maximum speed is 110 km/h, in population centers - 60 km/h and on highways is 130 km/h.
